Inspired by our friends (one of the many couples we know who are also pregnant right now), we slapped some headphones on my stomach last night to give MiniSquatch her first up close musical experience. Shimmy-Shake in the Afternoon

At my last Dr.’s appointment (on Dec. 31st), I was told that MiniSquatch was hiding behind my placenta and that’s why I couldn’t feel her (she, the Dr., also made comments like “Whoa she’s getting big!” and “Look at those big hands!” Yikes.) but she said it wouldn’t be long before MiniSquatch was big enough that I could feel her no matter where she was in relation to the placenta. In the ultrasound we could watch MiniSquatch bumping and pushing on the placenta but I couldn’t feel a thing. there be more readables! go harpoon em with ye eyecannons ☞

A Mover and Shaker

I’m pretty sure I felt the baby move yesterday. I had a piece of cake with lunch (HUGE mistake in terms of heart burn but it was buttermilk-almond cake with lemon curd filling and lemon curd-cream cheese frosting and it was delicious!) and about 15 minutes after I sat back down at my desk and felt a “not quite gas,” “not quite rumbling or gurgling,” “best described as butterflies” feeling in my lower abdomen. Of course I’m now on high alert and haven’t felt a thing. But I’ll keep you all posted.
