A Mover and Shaker
I’m pretty sure I felt the baby move yesterday. I had a piece of cake with lunch (HUGE mistake in terms of heart burn but it was buttermilk-almond cake with lemon curd filling and lemon curd-cream cheese frosting and it was delicious!) and about 15 minutes after I sat back down at my desk and felt a “not quite gas,” “not quite rumbling or gurgling,” “best described as butterflies” feeling in my lower abdomen. Of course I’m now on high alert and haven’t felt a thing. But I’ll keep you all posted.
Tomorrow I have a bonus 3-D ultrasound, so hopefully we’ll have some good pictures to put up. I volunteered for a study at Women and Infants (the specialty hospital here in Providence) and to figure out if I qualify, they do an internal ultrasound. Then they do a 3-D external ultrasound as a thank you (and because its in the room with the internal machine). I’m not sure what the internal ultrasound is all about but I am pretty excited about the 3-D scan, especially since our anatomy ultrasound pictures were so disappointing.
Meanwhile, we’ve been ogling the excellent Christmas gifts we opened for MiniSquatch (many thanks again!) and are talking to architects about expanding the homestead to make room for everything we’ll have come May. And I’m out cruising other offices’ birthday parties, trying to get this kid moving around some more.
